
OPENING: DIRECTOR OF FAITH FORMATION
(12-15 hours per week)

Job Description
The purpose of this ministry is to create a safe space in which children & youth can:
-
Develop a sense of wonder and connection to God’s ongoing story.
-
Strengthen their sense of sacred worth in themselves and others.
-
Explore the spiritual and ethical questions of being human
-
Make an impact on the world through service.
-

Responsibilities
-
Partner with pastor in implementing broader vision of faith formation at Salem.
-
Coordinate and co-lead programming for children and youth, including special events during Advent, Lent, and Summer. (Sunday curriculum provided.)
-
Co-lead time for children during worship.
-
Equip families with resources to engage in faith formation at home.
-
Maintain consistent, open, and direct communication with families
-
Act as a bridge between new families and the wider congregation.

Collaborate with staff and volunteers in planning intergenerational worship, service, and outreach opportunities.

Time requirements and Compensation:
-
Compensation range is $25-32 per week, depending on experience.

12-15 hours/week
-
Hours are flexible, but Sundays from 9:30am-11:30am are required.

Weekly 1:1 meetings with pastor and monthly staff meeting attendance expected.
