Gun Violence Prevention
Memorial to the Lost
Salem's Social Action Network partnered with Heeding God’s Call to End Gun Violence, a Philadelphia-based interfaith organization focused on ending gun violence, to host an installation of A Memorial to the Lost.®
The installation is a unique, visible education tool developed by Heeding to honor victims of gun violence and their surviving families. Tee-shirts with names and dates of those murdered by gun violence during a previous year in Bucks County were displayed on the front lawn of Freeman Hall.
Gun Violence Awareness Day
In November, we honor Gun Violence Awareness Day, which seeks to support sensible gun laws, eliminate illegal handguns from our community and end gun violence.
The day’s events include:
• ‘Memorial to the Lost’ T-shirt display
• An interfaith worship service of rememberance.
• A silent march through Doylestown
• Advocacy opportunities
