Marybeth Doctor
Director of Christian Education
Marybeth Doctor’s abundance of experience in the education field, business administration, and with religious communities and organizations – from founding and running several schools, to teaching at orphanages in India, to her work at Grow NJ Kids, an organization providing resources and support for early childhood programs – is only matched by her passion for teaching, nurturing, and learning from young people.
After starting Cornerstone School of Summit at Christ Church (UCC) in New Jersey, which involved creating a dynamic interfaith curriculum and working closely with church leadership, she went on to found her own school – Seedlings – serving as Executive Director for a decade. She was ordained as an Interfaith Minister by One Spirit Interfaith Seminary in 2008, serves on the boards of Good Grief and Concerned Persons for Adoption, and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at Drew Theological School.
At Salem Church, she is the Director of Christian Education, creating learning opportunities for children through the Sunday School program, facilitating Youth Group for 6th-10th Grade students, and organizing retreats and discussion groups.
